Coast Guard Noosa was established in 1972 with the sole objective of saving lives at sea.

Our 105 volunteer members not only provide a 24 hour a day search and rescue service but actively promote safety at sea with various educational courses.

Coast Guard Noosa currently has around 105 volunteer members that actively provide a 24 hour a day, 365 days, marine radio coverage and a search and rescue service.
Coast Guard Noosa provides numerous educational courses that are open to the general public:
First Aid
Navigation
Marine Radio Licence
Bar Crossing
Basic Seamanship
Elements of Shipboard Safety
Coast Guard Noosa works closely with the Water Police, SES, Surf Lifesaving Queensland, Local Council and many other emergency services.

Coast Guard Noosa enjoys taking part of local community events such as the Noosa Waters Christmas Parade, Santa on the River, Clean Up Australia Day and various others.
Coast Guard Noosa is almost entirely self-funded receiving approximately one sixth of our total operating costs from State Government.

The balance of the monies required to keep the Flotilla afloat are raised by our members with the support of our generous sponsors.

The Coast Guard Noosa base is located at the Munna Point Caravan Park off Russell Street in Noosaville.

We currently have three rescue vessels that cover the area from Double Island Point to Point Arkwright, 50 nautical miles to sea, the entire Noosa River and Lake system, a total of over 2500 square nautical miles.
